Dr. Mazen AL-Sawaf (Dr Max) is a Syrian physician and entrepreneur with extensive experience in building and developing institutions across multiple fields that combine medicine, innovation, and entrepreneurship. A graduate of Boston University, he holds American Board certifications in cardiac anesthesiology and post–cardiac surgery intensive care, in addition to advanced qualifications in Regenerative Medicine, Anti-Aging, and Pain Management. Dr. Sawaf has a strong track record in founding and managing successful companies across the region. He launched Novomed, one of the largest private healthcare networks in the UAE, and Vitatech, a leading medical equipment company in the Gulf. He also took the initiative to establish innovative startups in Syria, most notably Syrex, which aims to attract and facilitate investment in the country. He leveraged his vast entrepreneurial experience and wide network of local and international connections to lead initiatives and partnerships with prominent business figures and international companies, contributing to building a sustainable economy and fostering a thriving business environment that creates real value for individuals and society. In addition to his business ventures, Dr. Sawaf founded pioneering social organizations such as the Mafazah Foundation, which focuses on developing human capacities across various Syrian sectors, and the Ribat Al-Amal Foundation for supporting orphans and underprivileged families.
